Patron Saint of Ireland
"Look To The Rainbow!"
Sing to The LORD, O you Saints of His,
and give thanks at the remembrance of His Holiness.

Patricius, Apostle of Ireland, was born at Kilpatrick, Scotland, in the year 387.
His parents were Calpurnius, a civil magistrate and tax collector, and Conchessa, who were Romans living in Britain in charge of the colonies.
Roman legions had long since deserted Britain to protect Rome from barbarian invasions. Unprotected, Patricius and his town were unprepared for the attack by Irish warriors.
The barbarians swept through the village, and among burning houses and screaming people, Patricius who was (approx.) 16 years old, was captured and taken aboard a boat bound for the east coast of Ireland.
In those days, Ireland was a land of Druids and pagans. As a slave that herded and tended sheep, Patricius learned the language and practices of the people who held him.
For solace, he turned to GOD in prayer and wrote:
"The love of GOD and His Fear grew in me more and more, as did the faith, and my soul was rosed, so that, in a single day, I have said as many as a hundred prayers and in the night, nearly the same. ... I prayed in the woods and on the mountain, even before dawn. I felt no hurt from the snow or ice or rain."
At age 20, Patricius escaped after having a dream from GOD in which he was told to leave Ireland by going to the coast.
Good fortune smiled on him, as there he found some sailors who took him back to Britain, where he was reunited with his family.
There, he had another dream in which the people of Ireland were calling out to him "We beg you, holy youth, to come and walk among us once more."
Patricius began his studies for the priesthood, was ordained by St. Germanus, the Bishop of Auxerre, whom he had studied under for years; and was sent to take the Gospel to Ireland. He arrived at Slane, Ireland on March 25, 433.
Patricius, better known as Patrick, is remembered today as the saint who drove the snakes out of Ireland, preaching the Gospel throughout and converting many. He and his disciples preached and converted thousands and began building churches all over the country.
The eyes of your understanding being Enlightened;
that you may know what is the Hope of His Calling,
and what the Riches of the Glory of His Inheritance in the Saints.
He had many disciples, among them Beningnus, Auxilius, Serninus, and Fiaac, who were also all later canonized.
Patrick was a humble missionary, referring to himself as a sinner; and a man of great courage who proclaimed his love for the people of Ireland, steadfastly enduring enormous hardships in the pagan land for their sakes.When he evangelized Ireland, he set in motion a series of events that impacted all of Europe. He feared nothing, not even death, so complete was his trust in GOD, and of the importance of his mission.
Kings, their families, and entire kingdoms converted to Christianity when hearing Patrick's message; even as when:
Deuteronomy 33:2,3; Psalms 89:5
The LORD Came from Sinai, and Rose up from Seir unto them;
He Shined forth from Mount Paran,
and He Came with ten thousands of Saints:
from His Right Hand went a fiery Law for them.
Yea, He Loved the people;
all His Saints are in Your Hand:
and they sat down at Your Feet; every one shall receive of Your Words.
And the Heavens shall praise Your Wonders, O LORD:
Your Faithfulness also in the Congregation of the Saints.
Patrick preached and converted all of Ireland for 40 years. He worked many miracles and wrote many writings of his love for GOD.
He used the shamrock to explain the Trinity, associated with him and the Irish since that time.
One legend says that he met a chieftain of one of the tribes, who tried to kill Patrick. Patrick converted Dichu the chieftain, after he was unable to move his arm until he became non-hostile to the Saint.
After years of living in poverty, traveling and enduring much suffering, he died at Saul, Downpatrick, Ireland on March 17, 461, where he had built the first church.
GOD Bless the soul and the memory of Patrick, Patron Saint of Ireland.
The Irish indeed, and all of us as well, owe him a great debt of gratitude, and:
Giving thanks to The FATHER,
which has Made us meet to be partakers of the Inheritance of the Saints in Light:
May Saint Patrick's legacy, evermore inspire and ensure the Peace of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, our LORD. ...
II Chronicles 6:41; Revelations 15:3
Now therefore Arise, O LORD GOD,
into Your Resting Place, You, and the Ark of Your Strength:
Let Your Priests, O LORD. ... GOD, be clothed with Salvation,
and Let Your Saints rejoice in goodness.
And they sing the Song of Moses the Servant of GOD,
and the Song of the Lamb,
saying, Great and Marvelous Are Your Works, LORD GOD Almighty;
Just and True Are Your Ways,
Thou KING of Saints.
"Look To The Rainbow!"
A Heartwarming Song From "Finian's Rainbow"
by Burton Lane
On the day I was born,
said me father, said he,
"I've a fine legacy, waiting for thee."
So I searched the world o'er,
and I searched the world free,
To the East with the lark
to the West with the sea.
look to the rainbow.
Follow the fellow who follows a dream.
look to the rainbow.
Follow the fellow,
Follow the fellow,
Follow the fellow who follows a dream!
